And Galliano is back!
Back in October 2014, it was announced that John Galliano
will be back to the couture scene with the Belgian famous artisanal designer
Martin Margiela.
And the long awaited moment happened earlier this week when
Galliano presented his first couture collection: as we all know him, Galliano just went out of the ordinary.
The date: 12th of January, 2015
The city: London
The event:
Autumn/Winter 2015-2016 menswear fashion week
As expected from a Galliano collection: it was bold enough
keeping the artisanal spirit of the Maison Margiela style!
This collection came, indeed, as a good come back for
Galliano to the Couture world.
Though we did miss the big extravaganza theatrical shows he
used to create at Dior, but we sure knew that it was him who designed the featured
collection.
Beige, black and red: those were the main color
concentrations for the Spring 2015 Couture collection.
Mixing fabrics, toy soldiers, bird figurines, coats, cinched
waists, micro denim shorts, corset and oversized tuxedos, etc… all those and
more were the highlights of the Margiela by Gualliano defile, of course without
forgetting the two tones shoes, the jewelry and the accessories adorned with
the designed. Red dresses were there too: simple but definitely artisanal.
All in all, the fashion show was a rebirth for Galliano; a rebirth that the
fashion industry awaited for a long time now. A restart, for a talented
designer, of both artistic and theatrical tastes, as we all remember him.
Welcome Back Mr. Galliano! We surely missed you!
