Oscars 2015: What Happened?

So!! 5 days after the Oscars’ Ceremony, and the state of shock did not leave my face yet!

Where are the beautiful breathtaking dresses that we hoped to see?  Where are the colors and designs that walked on Paris’ runways just few weeks back?

Though some stars made a beautiful choice for the most important ceremony of the year, the audience was not dazzled and still expected more!

Just like the Golden Globes 2015 nudes and whites dominated the choices.

Between the best were:

Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab,

Jenna Dewan Tatum in Zuhair Murad,

Gwyneth Paltrow in Ralph&Russo,

Jennifer Aniston and Zoe Saldana both in Atelier Versace,

Though a Red outfit on a Red Carpet is not the best in terms of contrast and appearance,  Dakota Johnson’s Saint Laurent dress was quite an exception.

The Victoria Secrets Angel Behita Prinsloo stunned in this Armani Privé chosen from the Fall collection: the combination of black and red gives a feeling of a modern fairytale.

Three black dresses made a hit on the Oscars’ red carpet.

Cate Blanchett in a Maison Margiela design.  The lady dazzled though she could have used a brighter makeup as her face looked pale (a bit of peach or pink blush could have changed the overall look Cate!),

Margot Robbie in a Saint Laurent,

Kelly Osbourne in a Rita Vinieris,

Mrs. Legend made another legendary look on the red carpet with a baby blue Zuhair Murad creation. The sports illustrated cover model Chrissy Teigen seems pretty fond of the Lebanese designer after the stunning dress she wore for the Golden Globes.

Emma Stone looked shining in an Elie Saab creation. Looking green, sometimes yellow and some other times goldish, the dress matched perfectly with her hair color and skin tone.

As for Anna Kendrick her choice fell on  a coral custom made Thakoon dress.

To top  favorite dresses came Keira Knightley’s choice: A Valentino dress reflecting the perfect fairytale! Thumbs up Keira!

Now moving to what really shocked me.

Jessica Chastain’s dress: though the color is a perfect match with her skin and hair, but this extra layer falling down made one question pop in my mind: “Why? Couldn't you just choose a cut, without a layer, that looks as if misplaced!” Oh Jessica, I am sure you could have made better choice than that within the Givenchy dress collection!

Jessica Chastain - Givenchy

Julianne Moore??? Congratulations on the award my dear, but a No! No! for the dress. After choosing this beautiful shining Givenchy gown for the Golden Globes I really expected more to the Oscars. With all my respect and love for Chanel and everything that Chanel creates (or almost), but this choice is a No! No!

Out of all the beautiful dresses that marched the catwalk in the Paris Couture Spring 2015, it is shocking the choice that Scarlett Johansson made: this green Atelier Versace design is not quite the Oscars dress and that necklace was really not necessary! A beautiful diamond rivière would have given more value to you Scarlet…. and maybe (just maybe) to the dress.

While we know Naomi Watts is a Gucci fidèle, for the Oscars she chose to go for Armani Privé collection. The question is: Why this one? I mean, of all the beautiful designs shown in his latest couture collection I am sure Ms. Watts could have found something that suits her more!

Now after stealing all the ceremony last year and winning an award while stunning in a baby blue Prada gown, Lupita Nyong’o made quite a disappointing choice this year! It is not that the dress is not beautiful but I am sure it could have been better.

Lupita Nyong'o - Calvin Klein Collection
Let me grab a big glass of water and breathe into my disappointment dears… hoping that this awards ceremony would be the last one where most of our favorite stars dress less than we expect!!

Oh and… Happy Oscars!

What the Oscar's 2015 Red Carpet might bring from Paris Spring Couture 2015?

The nominees’ names are released and the ceremony is in less than a week.

Welcome to the 87th Academy Awards Ceremony.

But first and before our favorite stars walk down the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, let us try to imagine them wearing the best dresses that walked through the catwalk during the Paris Couture Spring 2015 fashion week.

Between January 25th and 29th earlier this year,  fairytales were coming true in Paris.

Let us take a small look on the best dresses seen there!

Glamour with a modernistic twist? Colorful too…

The winner of them all was definitely the collection presented by Armani Privé.

To sum it up, our Lebanese fashion stars did a more than a extraordinary job on the runaways and we are more than proud of them!

Now we know that some designers are a must have on the red carpet but how about getting out of the ordinary?

One of the recent British fashion designers is making an excellent impression in the Couture world reminding us a bit of the Lebanese designers’ style: It is Ralph and Russo.

It’s only few more days before we see our favorite stars wearing our favorite designers, let us cross fingers and wish them to wear what we mostly loved and avoid the usual and non-necessary faux-pas!
