Winter 2015 Must Haves

It seems like we will be having a real winter this year, unlike last year’s!

Oh yeah, we will be buying the” Must Haves” of this season and actually wearing them.

Feeling cold?! Well, it is cold! Now, how about the Burberry Prorsum Monogrammed Poncho?

Follow the steps of Sarah Jessica Parker, Cara Delevigne and Olivia Palermo and get personalized with a Poncho Blanket.

Now what’s hot about this winter season?

Well, the sixties are back! From crop tops to miniskirts, without forgetting the mini dress. Your wardrobe cannot go through the first trimester of 2015 without having one (or all) of those three items for an evening out.

And Saint Laurent did it well (once again). In fact,  one of my favorites of this winter’s runaway was a little black dress with leather fringes.

A Chimney, a glass of wine, the snow is falling outside, and a good company: now such anight should definitely include a good/trendy legging, high-knee boots, and one of the cozy knits trends of this winter.

My choice would be this Tory Burch tight knit with a gold detail: sublime!

Boots… an indispensable clothing item for this winter, any winter actually!  And over the knee ones are what’s trendy this year!

Now go, run, do it like Olivia Palermo!

What was also noticeable on the runaways during this fall/winter collection were the Fairytales dresses: It’s the perfect season to dress like a princess. Care to be the next Snow White or maybe Cinderella?

Now let’s steal a must-have item from the men’s wardrobe? Oh yes! The male’s section is taking over our closets girls and the  Tuxedo Jacket is definitely a  Must have!

From black to Military Khaki,a color that was obviously on almost all the designers’ runaways, notably Balmain’s.

And for the grand finale: Velvet Night!

Long or Short dress, maybe a top or even a pair of pants... How about a skirt? Your holiday season cannot pass by without having at least one Velvet piece of clothing in your wardrobe.

Stay Warm Ladies and enjoy the cold season in style!

Balmain Baby!... Oh Baby!

Fashion lovers couldn’t help but notice lately the evolution in style of the Balmain collections,  signed by Olivier Rousteing.

The Creative Director of the house of fashion Balmain has uplifted the scale and style of the brand's designs since he joined in 2011.

And the change was noticeable!

In this year’s fall/winter collection: the adopted tribal style collection that Balmain presented will, in my humble opinion, become one of the top brands to be talked about this year.

And to top it all, yesterday the Creative Director released a picture for custom made baby blazers designed to the one and only little North “Nori” West, to match mommy Kim.

And who's better than the Kardashian family to launch a trend on 2014's world?

Little Nori is apparently following mommy's steps and setting trends while looking all edible in adorable, wearing one the blazers to aunty Kourtney’s baby shower!

Would that be a teaser from Rousteing that a Balmain Baby collection will soon be released?

Hope the good news will be coming out soon because, as I can see it, if these little things will be released on the market they will be gone in less than seconds!

Oh Oscar!

Tragic morning! This is what I call a tragic morning for the fashion industry.

The iconic gown master passed away... Oscar de la Renta passed away!

The man that dressed first ladies, Hollywood stars and designed the most breathtaking wedding gowns left us today at the age of 82, leaving behind him a 50 years legacy of fashion!

Jacqueline Kennedy, Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, Jenna Bush, Hilary Clinton, Sarah Jessica Parker and many more were dressed by De La Renta, without forgetting the most awaited wedding gown of Amal Alamuddin Clooney less than a month ago.

Each dress he designed was anticipated and awaited. And though he was known to be an American designer, Oscar always had a European touch running through his designs, making gowns look even more special!

Lea Michele

Sarah Jessica Parker

Earlier this month Oscar has appointed Peter Copping the artistic director of Nina Ricci as a creative director for his company.

Peter Copping

Oscar, the red carpets, wedding aisles and White House dinners will be missing you.  The fashionistas, designers and regulars will be missing you. We all will be missing you!

Peter we are counting on you to keep the legacy going on!

“What is Oscar de la Renta?’ And you could say, ‘It’s a pretty dress.'”

Hello Halloween

Fall is here and the festivities seasons is about to start:

Hello October! And Hello Halloween!

Oh yeah! Festivity number  1 this season (and every fall season): Halloween!

October 1st: OMG October is here! Where are we celebrating Halloween?

October 10th: Did you know that this “top notch” club is throwing one of the best Halloween parties in town! Champagne, masks, trick and treats and Halloween personalized menu!

October 15th: Table Reserved!

October 25th: I still don’t know what to wear! Any costume ideas?

Ready-made costume? Absolutely not!

This year I am going to be creative and do it myself!

Princess, Witches, cats! Enough of those! Its cliché and predictable. Not to mention that you will be 100 out of 100 wearing that!

Keep it simple. Avoid that costume where you will have to spend half an hour (or the evening!) explaining to people what are you wearing.

Halloween is fun. So have fun people!

Dress up like a fellow colleague or one of your friends (but first you really need to make sure that this will not piss them off )

It’s not about being trendy… nor super chic! It’s Halloween! It’s about playing dress up… actually, do you feel like dressing in your favorite childhood character? Then go ahead, do it!

Make-up! Use it. Use a lot of it! It’s your chance to mix up colors and try that overdone make up you always wanted to do. Who’s opting for the Cleopatra eye liner this year? But while you’re at it, avoid the gothic bloody make up: that one option  looks horrible and you really don’t want pictures on your Facebook page with that kind of stuff on your face!

And above all, don’t forget it’s Halloween and not a strip club invitation! Avoid showing too much skin: it is not sexy, it is not fun and it is not Halloween-ny! (PS: too much skin is not sexy at anytime anyway)

Venetian masks, a classy hair do and a maxi dress. Hell yes! You are allowed to keep it simple and classy when ideas run out of your head.

Happy Halloween Ladies!

Don’t forget to bring with you some candies to give away!

Between British simplicity and Lebanese style

And Mrs. Clooney officially nailed it!

The Lebanese born barrister appeared throughout the weekend wedding festivities in stunning outfits, topping them all with a Stella McCartney pant outfit for her civil ceremony, showing out her perfectly slim body and adorned with a hat à l’Anglaise.

And then came the Grand Finale with the release of the wedding gown pictures: Amal nailed a picture perfect!

Amal opted for an Oscar de la Renta gown: a perfect, romantic flowing flying wedding dress.

Designed by one of the worldwide top designers, this custom made French lace dress, embroidered with pearls and diamanté accents and topped with a lace overlay and off-the shoulder sleeves served perfectly the bridal appearance and wow effect.

Amal reflected the perfectly renowned elegance Lebanese ladies are well known for. And, to engrave her Lebanese origins in the wedding and George’s life, she gifted the groom cufflinks to wear on their big day, with his name engraved in Arabic calligraphy.

Mr. & Mrs. Clooney’s wedding topped all of the wedding festivities of the summer season with their festivities, “à la Méditeranéenne”.

I am simply in love: Amal, George, pre-wedding, civil ceremony, wedding gown, cufflinks, everything! Aren’t you all?

And, as we say à la Libanaise: “Alef Mabrouk, ni2cha3elkoun”!

A Venice Affair: George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin

The last week-end of September passed and the most eligible bachelor of the century is no longer eligible! More specifically, he tied the knot with a human rights, Oxford Graduate, lawyer from  Lebanese origin.

Good Monday morning and Congratulations to the Lebanese Amal Alamuddin for stealing the heart and last name of the one and only George Clooney.

While, as all of the press and fans, we wait to see a glimpse of the most awaited wedding dress and wedding of the Century (crossing fingers that the pictures will be released soon!).

But before that, let’s take a look of what was Mrs. Clooney wearing on her bachelorette and on the day of her arrival to Venice where the wedding festive took place.

For her arrival to the most romantic city of the world, Amal Alamuddin Clooney chose a stripped Dolce and Gabbana dress, sexy enough to kick-off the wedding festive taking place in Venice .

The bride’s moment is divided in two: the rehersal dinner and the wedding! And while we still wait to see Amal’s wedding gown, the lady looked stunning at her rehearsal dinner  in a red Alexander McQueen, looking like a waterfall!

And while (sadly) the bride did not show off her wedding gown yet, she sure didn’t disappoint fans and friends in her post-wedding appearance.  What a carefully chosen, stunning Giambattista Valli Couture mini dress for the morning after!

Speculations are running through to know who was the designer of the wedding gown: was it Dolce and Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli or might the honor have been to another designer?

While we wait in anticipation, we wonder how royal the gown will be, afterall Amal is from Lebanese origins and Lebanese are well known for their sense of style! Oh wait… might it be that she chose a Lebanese designer for the gown?
