Miley Cyrus and the VMAs

It has been a long time since I last wrote anything about the fashion world, but daily life tasks are taking much of my time these days…

Then the VMA announced that their host will be Miley Cyrus.

Remember Miley’s performance with Robin Thicke at the VMA back in 2013, and all the controversial articles we read whether about the way she performed or the outfit she chose?

This year, we were waiting to see what surprises Miley would be hiding while presenting the show, and the news is:

she did not fail!

Consider me blind! Or actually, consider the whole world blind! Are you sure little missy this is an outfit to arrive on a red carpet at an awards show that you are actually hosting!?? Even one of the top designers it’s a NO! NO! NO! Kids watch the show! Your outfit does not even fit to be a swimsuit!

Though some lines were added, the design is outrageous! And that  behavior!

As for the performance…. oh well! Very acceptable!!!! Miley, you are such a role model! A true inspiration!

And here goes another horrible outfit but with some fabric. Couldn’t you just skip the flowers part?

Here we are again…. the same problem the same bad choice! This is not sexy and it is actually vulgar!?

Any explanation for that? I guess not! NO! NO! NO! People’s eyes are hurting a lot!

I am very happy that you support the gays rights but this is not Halloween! Do wear the rainbow in support of the cause but maybe like… in a normal dress???

Now a regular crop top for that shiny pink leathery pants wouldn’t have been better and classier than stripes????

I am so sad that this particular young lady - that back in the days used to look angelic and wear beautiful dresses and have beautiful makeup and hair and actually behaves-  became such a vulgar looking…  “girl”.

Just a quick reminder Ms. Cyrus you used to be a no. 1 role model for little girls who used to wait for your show and appearances. Now those same little girls are actually laughing at you and are surprised you became like that.

In Summary: People change to the best you failed you changed to the worst!

Coachella: Street Festival Trendsetter

Coachella the yearly music and arts festival is held at the Empire Polo Club, in Indio California, since 2001.

As much as it is a music and art festival, the event  is also the guideline and trendsetter of the yearly “What to wear” to summer festivals.

Most of the renowned stars attend Coachella, each creating a new style and launching a new trend.

While denim cut-offs and floral dresses will always be present, here are some of the new styles we need to think of for summer 2015 field festivals.

It took me a couple of days to post because I was in total denial!

The world, the fashion industry in general and  the Lebanese fashion industry in particular were devastated on Monday, March 30^th, 2014 with the sad news of the loss of Basil Soda.

Since the year 2000, Basil Soda offered the world of fashion high-class designs reflecting an exclusive signature.  Bassil shared  his love for architecture through his designs, making each and every collection of his unique and distinctive.

Throughout the years, Basil Soda dressed local, regional and international stars from which we name Katy Perry and Nancy Ajram.  Also, the designer  was very well known for his exquisite wedding gowns.

Today, we grief the late designer and remember him through the pictures of these celebrities he once dressed.

The Kids Fashion Show: Palms Sunday 6 most important rules

Palms Sunday is without a doubt one of the kids’ most awaited holiday (after Christmas!)… or shall we call it one of the most awaited fashion shows for the mothers!

Sadly this particular holiday lost its true religious spirit and became more of who dressed their kids “à la mode”.

And since this is what it became, it is a must to remind all moms of some strict rules for the fashion show coming-up this Sunday and the one after (since ridiculously we still celebrate 2 palms Sunday and 2 Easters)!

Rule no. 1

Your kids are not your dolls. Do not turn them into models of what you wished to wear when you were little! It was over 20 years ago, in your own imagination!

This is not a wedding and they are neither the flower girls nor the ring boys! Big huge pompom dresses and suits are not a Palms Sunday outfit.

Also, it is not Halloween: i.e. make-up for little girls is not allowed! They are still called little girls not little dolls!

It is still cold! Can you please make sure to get them some cardigans and jackets or else they will get sick and you will start nagging? Regardless of them spending the whole vacation at home!

A candle is a candle and it should look so! Cones, dolls, sticks with flowers on top are not candle and excessive accessories  turn candles into heavy weights that your kids can’t hold. Ladies, you will have to do so… or as we all can see lately (in the past 10 years) you need to tell your men to do so!

Rule no. 6

Finally it is a holiday for kids! Mothers, stop being self-centered and pay attention to your kids! You can have this chat with the friend you meet at the church (that same friend you were stalking for a month to make sure your kids’ clothes were more “in style” than theirs) later on in the afternoon maybe or another day!
